WSF Philippines is a volunteer group responsible for coordinating surgical team volunteers, surgical camps and fund raising activities. It has been involved with surgical missions in the Philippines since 2007, providing thousands of surgeries to the very poor patients of our country.
The volunteers of World Surgical Foundation come from all professions and different specialties, mostly from Metro Manila, but we always need help.
“WSF Philippines was quite busy these last few months. We ended June with a small mission in Brooke’s Point, Palawan to help them inaugurate the new Southern Palawan Provincial Hospital.
We had two pediatric missions in July. First in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, immediately followed by another one in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur. The children of these two poor areas eagerly awaited our arrival.
We had another pediatric mission in Kalibo, Aklan last August. The enthusiasm of the people of Aklan to help out during the mission was matched by the volunteers’ enthusiasm for oysters and seafood from the province.
Research is an important part of the work of World Surgical Foundation Philippines. We conduct studies to provide evidence that will influence policy and practice to improve access to quality, equitable, timely and efficient surgical services for the population, particularly the marginalized.
We do in-house studies and also provide consulting services for interested organizations and individuals. We disseminate our studies through publications in academic journals, conference presentations and policy fora. WSF Philippines has a working group with members who have expertise in quantitative and qualitative research, policy analysis, epidemiology, and health services research. We work with academics and other researchers by conducting collaborative research work.
Individuals, groups, and corporations can help host a mission by sponsoring a part of or an entire mission.
Every little bit contributes to the care of someone in need.
Some people have a talent in raising awareness and funds, we could also use your help.
Corporations and Foundations who would like to partner with us need only ask us how.
